‘Rubus Autumn First’ is an autumn raspberry and thus produces fruit in the autumn. The flowering of this shrub starts in June with white flowers, and is then richly pollinated by bees and bumblebees. At the end of August until October the fruits can be picked. The fruits are large, bright red, cone-shaped with a delicious sweet-sour taste. The raspberry can be eaten fresh, but can also be frozen or used to make delicious jam or liqueur. The fruits are very healthy, they are full of antioxidants, minerals and vitamins. This is a very productive species, so a good harvest is guaranteed! After the harvest, it is advisable to remove the branches that have borne fruit so that new young branches can grow in the new year. Rubus Autumn First’ prefers a sunny spot in a nutritious, humus-rich soil. It prefers to be placed near a mesh or fence, so that the rather weak stems of the shrub can be fastened.
