‘Prunus Domestica Reine Claude Verte’ is a plum tree that blooms in the middle of April with white flowers. It is a plum tree that cannot pollinate itself, so you need another fruit tree to get fruit. It can be pollinated by the plum species, among others: Victoria, Ontario, Reine Claude d’Oullins, Reine Claude d’Althan and Anna Späth. The fairly small green-yellow juicy plums with a good sweet taste can be picked from the end of August and are mainly used as hand plums and as prunes. The plum tree can be pruned at two times, in the spring after flowering or in the autumn after harvesting. Always prune on a relatively warm and dry day to prevent diseases and leave enough older branches for good fruit in the new season. In the end, create an open tree with a number of main branches, from which the side branches emerge. All fruit, including plums, ripens best in the sun. So give this fruit tree a sunny spot in the garden.
