Description

Tasty Green, 100% organically grown fruit. This means that only plant and animal materials have been used during cultivation. The pot and the label are made of recycled plastic and are therefore a clean solution for the environment.
‘Prunus Avium Bigarreau Napoléon’ is a blond cherry tree. The tree blossoms in the spring with beautiful snow-white flowers. After pollination the tree produces yellow fruits with a red blush and white-yellow firm flesh. They have a juicy and sweet taste. From mid-July onwards the cherries can be picked and eaten. A cherry tree in the garden is also ideal if you are bothered by wasps. The wasps can find everything they need near the tree and so they will not come onto your terrace. Besides the deliciously sweet fruit, cherry trees also have other ornamental value. In the autumn, the leaves turn a beautiful orange-red colour. Cherries are healthy! They contain a lot of carbohydrates, calcium and vitamin C. They are usually eaten out of hand. You can also use them as jam, juice or as garnish for ice cream, cakes and desserts. The cherry tree can be pruned at two times of the year, after flowering and after harvest. After the harvest is the best time, because then the tree can recover well from the pruning wounds. Prune the tree in such a way that an open crown is created with enough old branches that the light can penetrate.
