Humulus lupulus ‘Nordbrau’

Humulus is the best known hop species, because of its use in beer. The beautiful hop cones will look decorative in the garden. In the natural environment, hops often climb shrubs, so they do well in a spot with light shade. Climbing does require good support. Hops grow everywhere. Rich or poor soil, it makes no difference. The plant has enormous growing power and can hide unsightly spots from view every summer. If you want to keep your hop plant compact, it is best to let only 3/5 branches grow in spring and in autumn prune everything to the ground.
