Description
The Clematis ‘Montana’ is one of our favourites. It is a strong climber that grows quickly and flowers very abundantly with numerous cheerful flowers. The ‘Montana’ varieties grow faster than the large flowers Clematis varieties. The Clematis ‘Montana’ varieties from the ‘Our Choice’ series are characterised by longer and richer flowering and are more resistant to disease than the regular ‘Montana’ varieties. They remain much more compact and grow to a height of 2 to 3 metres. The Clematis can be placed in a large pot or flower box, but can also grow against a climbing frame. They bloom in May/July with intensely coloured small flowers that change colour as they get older. Place this Clematis in the full sun or semi shade. If the Clematis is in full sunlight, it is important that the roots stay out of the sun. Cover the root ball well and plant it 10 to 15 cm deep. After the flowering period, the plant can be pruned back to 50 cm. Pruning keeps the plant young and in shape, but pruning is not necessary.
